Circle is extending its stablecoin offerings into the enterprise space by partnering with Tereina, a financial-services firm supported by SAP. The collaboration will embed USDC and EURC directly into SAP’s financial applications, allowing corporate users to send and receive these digital assets without leaving their existing workflow.

Partnership Overview

The agreement links Circle’s two major stablecoins—USDC for US-dollar transactions and EURC for euro-denominated payments—with Tereina’s payment-infrastructure layer that sits inside SAP’s software suite. SAP’s ecosystem is said to account for roughly 84% of global commerce, giving the integration a potentially wide reach across multinational corporations.

Integration Details

Tereina provides a set of APIs and tools that can be incorporated into business software, enabling payments to be processed directly from the applications companies already use. By adding USDC and EURC, the integration lets firms settle invoices, manage treasury operations, and conduct cross-border transfers using stablecoins rather than traditional fiat channels. Circle indicated that USDC will be the default choice for dollar-based payments, while EURC will serve euro-based transactions.

Testing of the stablecoin workflow is slated to begin in the coming months with a selection of SAP customers. The pilot will evaluate use cases such as global payments and treasury management, assessing both operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.

Potential Impact

Embedding stablecoins into SAP’s financial suite could streamline corporate cash management by reducing reliance on multiple banking relationships and lowering settlement times. Because the stablecoins are backed by fiat reserves, they aim to provide price stability while offering the speed and programmability of blockchain transactions. The move also aligns with Circle’s recent launch of the Arc blockchain, a layer-1 network designed for stablecoin payments that already uses USDC for transaction fees and supports more than 20 fiat-backed tokens.

Why it matters

The integration signals a growing acceptance of digital assets in traditional enterprise finance. By bringing USDC and EURC into a platform that processes the majority of global commerce, Circle positions its stablecoins as viable alternatives for corporate payments, potentially accelerating broader adoption of blockchain-based settlement solutions across industries.
